Music News- Week 9

Online Music Lessons

Thank you to our wonderful community of music parents, students and tutors who have made the transition to online learning a success! The response to online lessons has been overwhelmingly positive and we are proud to be filling homes with music in these times.

As the holidays approach, please note the following:

  • Music Lessons may continue through the holidays, at the discretion of both tutors and families.
  • The Music Department will remain open in Week 10 and can provide facilities for Music Lessons being taught in person, or remotely for either students or tutors. The Music Office will also be open throughout the week.
  • Please ensure families continue to notify tutors by 3:00pm the day before a lesson is scheduled, should any conflict arise.
  • The quality of online lessons is greatly determined by the number of simultaneous connections to a home network.

Ensembles

Teams have been formed for the College’s many ensembles and are in the early stages of being populated with content! Please stay tuned for updates from ensemble directors regarding a range of at-home rehearsal options that may be available for students.

Free AMEB Theory Exams

The Australian Musical Examinations Board (AMEB) has responded to current climate of online learning by making the first three Music Theory courses and exams free! All students are able to access these through the AMEB website – any student who completes an exam is encouraged to contact the Music Office with the results.
