Around The Primary
Dear Parents
Today is officially the last day of term one for students in Catholic schools.
Next week, staff will be working on planning for after the school holidays to make sure that we are well prepared for the possibility of having to continue remote learning. Teachers have done a great job trying to capture some of the main learning opportunities and keeping it a simple as possible for parents to manage. We thank you for your understanding, patience and support as we continue to refine aspects of remote learning.
Should remote learning continue next term, just do your best and don’t place yourself or your child/ren under too much pressure. Simply give the activities a go and try to establish a simple routine each day.
During this unsettling time, be your best around your children - calm, firm when needed, quick to encourage and praise effort and take the holidays one day at a time. Parents are encouraged to make sure there is good variety in the day – busy time, story time, active time, quiet time, reading time or watch a movie together! Most importantly, laugh, play and pray together.
Next week is the most important week in the Church’s year, as we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus. This is the foundation of our faith as a Catholic community. It is Palm Sunday this Sunday and a Prayer Reflection is available to parents. An Easter Reflection will be provided next week on Holy Thursday. These Reflections can be accessed through SEQTA Engage - General Primary TAB.
At this stage we are unclear as to whether schools will remain closed after the holidays. As soon as we know more we will be in touch with families. We will continue to do our best to support you in the uncertain weeks ahead and may our community continue to care for each other.
Wishing you all families a happy and holy Easter and stay safe.
Kind regards,
Antoinette De Pinto

Working From Home
Special thanks for all the photos of children making the best of their time with remote learning. Please continue to email photos to nancy.petsos@cewa.edu.au
If your child is experiencing technical difficulty, parents are welcome to email ithelpdesk@johnxxiii.edu.au
To assist in this process, please follow these steps:
- Put your child’s Year Group in the subject line of an email followed by a couple of words about the technical issue (e.g. ‘Year 6, trouble connecting to Teams’).
- In the body of the email, explain as best you can, what technical issue your child is experiencing. Also include a contact phone number that the IT Helpdesk can call if required.
Project Compassion
We are very proud to announce that we have raised $2,689.45 for Caritas. We feel blessed to be part of such a loving and supporting school community. Thank you for your generosity.
Library Books
Please keep your library books in a safe place and return them to the Library when school re-opens.
