All Saints Day (Nov.1) and All Souls Day (Nov.2)
God who inspired the prophets, who strengthened the martyrs,
Who gave courage to those who ventured into the unknown in your name,
Fill us with your fire, as you did on the first Pentecost.
Touch us with your compassion
so that we might be compassionate,
touch us with your goodness and justice,
so that we might be messengers of your word,
touch us with your love,
so that we might yearn for you and your ways.
Amen
Dear Parents, Students and Friends
There have been a number of events that have shown a good reflection of the College spirit this week. I attended the Vinnies Sleep Out with a large group of students from Year 10 and staff last night. Students workshopped a number of Youth Homeless “myths” with representatives from Griffith Youthlinks and the Marian Community Action Team. The event was filmed by students under the direction of Dona Parise and it will be made into a short film. My thanks to Year 10 Coordinator, Mrs Centofanti, Pastoral Care Worker, Sue Hone, Year 10 Homeroom teachers and Mr Neville, for the night-time supervision. Nothing happens without the support of the staff and we are very fortunate to have such a caring and selfless team.
The other event this week is the Year 8 Survivor Day. The students are put through a range of team building exercises. Their enthusiasm to not only enjoy the day but support each other to be the best was plainly evident. I have nothing but praise for the group and we can all be proud of who they are becoming. Once again my thanks to Year 8 coordinator, Ms Calabria and the Homeroom teachers for their enthusiasm to engage with students.
Finally, MCC now has the app Skoolbag. Information about how to connect is further into this newsletter.
Peace and Best Wishes

Jesus you have told us that you are going to prepare a place for us,
so that where you are, we may be too.
Help us to understand that there too, our loved ones
Who have gone before us,
are awaiting our return.
Amen
God comes to us disguised as our life.”
