Around the School

Stay Up to Date

It has been a very busy semester around the school with students participating in a variety of camps, excursions, events and more! If you missed anything from this semester or would like to stay up to date with all our news be sure to like our Facebook Page and follow us on Instagram and Twitter.

Camps

Year 8

Year 8 camp presented the opportunity for staff and students to continue forming strong relationships as well as test their skills and step outside their comfort zones. Activities such as surfing, high and low ropes courses, archery and more tested the students team work and persistence!

Year 7

Our Year 7 students headed to Barombola where team work, bonding and fun were on the agenda. The Year 7 camp is a great way for the cohort to come together where they can take a moment to look at how far they have come and acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead.

Year 5

Our Year 5 students  spent a fabulous  three days exploring Cave Hill Creek and Sovereign Hill!

The students enjoyed mountain bike rides, low ropes course, MADE Museum's Eureka Program, Sovereign Hill Barracks and  the Blood on the Southern Cross show. And of course,  exploring the historic Sovereign Hill sites and of course the lolly shop!

Supporting the Community

Our staff, students and families have, as always, been dedicated to supporting a number of community initatives this year, so far these have included;

A Sea of Pink and Orange

On Friday 18 May our student representative council held a whole school Pink Day Fundraiser that also coincided with the One and All Inclusion Wear orange Day, the school was a sea of pink and orange as students wore their best and brightest with funds raised from the day going towards One & All and the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Boomerang Bags

In over 6 weeks we have created over 450 bags as part of the Boomerang Bag initiative this is a fabulous effort by all involved!

Thank you to all the parents who assisted in the upcycling of old pillow cases to reusable shopping bags. Boomerang bags help reduce single use plastic bags, as well as teach our children they can be part of the solution. A grassroots movement that has spread across 708 communities world wide, Echuca/Moama are proud to be involved.

In July the primary students will decorate the bags in art and take them home to keep and use. You will also see Boomerang Bags in the uniform shop. Please boomerang these back to the office for reuse.

Join Plastic Bag Free Echuca/Moama on Facebook to find out about Boomerang Bag working bees in the community.

Cupcake Day

This year families donated fabulous cupcakes to be sold at our Cupcake Day stall with all funds raised being donated to the red cross!

The Great Book Swap

This year, to acknowledge Reconciliation Week, Moama Anglican Grammar hosted a Great Book Swap  in the Resource Centre on Thursday 31 May. This was an opportunity for students to bring a book from home that they have loved, but no longer read. They then swap their book for another pre-loved book. To participate in the swap students donated a gold coin which goes to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, who help remote Indigenous communities buy books for their own libraries. A fabulous initiative to be a part of!
