Leader of Curriculum News

My role has been introduced in 2019 to better help and support our teachers and students in all areas of curriculum. I will be looking forward to helping our students with subject advice and finding the pathway which best fits their interests and abilities.

My office is situated in the front administration office of the College. I am available to advise/assist with subject selections, assessment concerns and NESA requirements.

I have met with 11 and 12 to explain my role and how best I can help them with their transition into stage 6. I am pleased that quite a number of students have already arranged interviews with me over the past 3 weeks, to help them with their subject selections.

I have also interviewed a number of year 9 students regarding their electives and made changes where necessary. Now we have entered into week 4, students have been reminded that it is now too late to change courses. A lot of work has already been covered in the first 3 weeks of the term and it is important that classes are settled for the year.

Year 11 students received a copy of the Preliminary Assessment Policy and Schedule for 2020. It is now important that they write out their own Assessment Schedule for their courses of study. I will meet with the whole year to make sure this policy is clear and understood by all at the next timetabled year meeting.

Information Nights are included in the college calendar for year 11 and 12 students and parents. These nights are invaluable to further help support our senior students negotiate the HSC.

I will look forward to working with all our students and parents in 2020.

Regards,

Mr John Seers
