Hi,
Welcome back to Term 4. It would seem that currently there are many students throughout the school with overdue books. Notices will be sent home early next week and the prompt return of titles would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to query any information that is sent home please don’t hesitate to come and discuss it with Library staff.
Issue 7 of Scholastic Book Club will also be distributed to students this week. It is the BUMPER Christmas catalogue and is jam packed with over 400 titles to choose from. Paper orders can no longer be processed through the school. If you would like to order you must use the LOOP platform at: https://mybookclubs.scholastic.com.au/Parent.aspx The LOOP platform also allows you to nominate whether or not your order is a gift. Once the orders are delivered Library staff will contact you to organise a convenient time for you to pick it up. Orders must be placed through the LOOP platform by Wednesday 30th October.
Many of our girls are reading the ‘Alice Miranda’ series by Jacqueline Harvey. It was very exciting the other day to learn that the series has been made into an animated film. The film will have its launch on Saturday the 9th November in Sydney. Eventually the film will be aired on KidsWB 28/12/19 at 5:30pm. Students may be interested to view the trailer at:
https://youtu.be/41oogINMil0. Many authors have developed excellent interactive websites which provide children with lots of fun activities.
At the end of last term it was great to meet the students who will be in Year 7 in 2020. They were shown how to access and use the Library website Oliver as well as our eLibrary. The eLibrary seemed to be popular with students once they discovered that they didn’t need the internet to read a book after downloading it.
