Chinese Moon Festival

Moon Festival

The Moon Festival is one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals, taking place each year on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar. Traditionally, the Moon Festival marks the end of the summer harvest. To the farmers of China, the festival is a celebration of thankfulness for heaven's bounty. It is also a time for family members and loved ones to congregate, enjoy the full moon and eat some moon cakes.
