Camps and excursions

It is understandable but disappointing that across the State and for the foreseeable future, all school camps have been cancelled. We have cancelled our planned and popular Vietnam trip, art students' visit to the Sydney Biennale, VCAL camp and the 'Generations in Jazz'  Mt. Gambier trip for our music ensembles. These are significant losses to the rich student experiences we normally provide each year.

All excursions outside the school for purposes such as visits to cultural institutions, art galleries, theatres and sporting events or facilities (other than those local facilities regularly used by the school) have also been cancelled.  We are hoping we can return to planning camps and excursions soon.

Wilderness Week, a highly valued end of year program for Year 9 students, may need to be postponed but we are looking forward to being able to announce details of how opportunities will be provided for this year level.

Mirrimbah Campus, at Sawmill Settlement in the high country near Mt Buller,  is benefiting from the Department of Education asbestos removal program at present. As mentioned in the School Council President's report, we are using this opportunity to invest in some significant upgrades to the buildings at Mirrimbah. Have a look at our photo gallery to remind you of the possibilities of remote places and our country campus:
