Elfette inspiring lots of learning in Year One
Year One are very lucky to have their own Elf on the Shelf named, Elfette.
Elfette has inspired lots of exciting learning for Year One students.
Writing is our thing
It’s been a year for improving writing and we interviewed two Yr 3 students to find out the impact of “the Big Write” on them.
Q1-What did you write about today?
“Today we wrote about a funny topic. It was Mrs Jaeger and two Yr 6 girls sitting on a canon. I started with a sizzling start because it grabs your attention. Mrs Jaeger was shot off the canon and she saw Cloudman. She landed on the moon and was eaten by a monster! The Yr 6 girls saved her.” Brock Jensen
“Well, my story was about a time when Mrs Jaeger, Mrs Honner and I were on holiday in Rome. There were some scary moments but it ended happily!” Cohen Walton
Q2-What do you think of the way we are doing writing this year?
“ I like it. It’s fun. We talk about it in the car.” Brock Jensen
“ I like it too. We talk about it at the dinner table and sometimes in the car.” Cohen Walton
Q3-Do you think it has made a difference to your writing?
“My writing has improved a lot. My first Big Write didn’t really make sense (chuckle chuckle) but now it does.” Brock Jensen
“My writing has really improved. I like writing now. I write so much now and I write at home as well. I can’t stop writing!” Cohen Walton
Year 3 Sculpters
Yr 3 have been making sculptures of themselves but in different forms. They will end up a cartoon version of ourselves. These pictures show part of the process. We will share the final results soon.
