Prayer for the End of the School year

At the end of this school year we give thanks to God:

For all the teaching and learning

that has taken place in our school,

both in and out of the classroom,

For the talents and gifts that have

been shared and the challenges that have been faced;

For the burdens that have been

lifted and the hurts that have been healed;

For the respect and care that has been given.

We give thanks for the friendships

that have just begun and for those that have grown.

For the faith that has been lived in our daily struggles,

For the hope that has lifted our hearts on the dark days

And for the love that has kept us going.

We give thanks for the community that we are, and we ask you Lord -

Bless our students.

 May your Spirit inspire them with confidence and calmness.

Bless our families as we take our holidays.

May our time together leave us with memories to cherish.

Pour out your love on us,

that we may return renewed and refreshed to continue our journey together.

We make this prayer through Christ

our Lord.

Amen

Fun Run for Mission Fundraiser

As long as the weather permits, our Fun-Run for Mission will be held tomorrow. We are aware that the temperatures across the week have been scorching hot and are not conducive to running-style events, and the smoky conditions are not desirable, either. We want to assure you that we have considered these factors in our planning, and will not put fundraising before safety. We also want to inform you that the emphasis is definitely on the ‘Fun’ as opposed to the ‘Run’, and that we will not be expecting children to be over-exerting themselves in this heat. Provisions have been made to combat the heat, however, if the air quality is highly smoky, the "Fun-Run" will be cancelled.

This is our last opportunity to collect money for Catholic Mission, so any donation you can contribute will be gladly accepted and strongly appreciated. Students are allowed to wear clothing in their house colours tomorrow.

St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal

Thank you for all your amazingly generous donations towards the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal to date. It has been wonderful to see the wide variety of donations filling our classroom baskets. If you haven’t provided anything yet, please remember that St Vincent de Paul are looking for donations related to Christmas Day - special biscuits, chips, crackers, sauces, paper plates, cutlery, bon-bons, assorted nuts, etc. Some volunteers from our local St Vincent de Paul Society Office will be collecting all our baskets at next week’s assembly, meaning we only have a few days of collecting donations left!

Upcoming Masses

St Xavier’s will be say farewell to the Year 6 students in a Graduation Mass at St Joseph’s Church tomorrow evening. Mass will start at 5:30pm and will lead into the Year 6 Farewell Ceremony, which has been beautifully prepared by Year 5.
