Students of the week

Students of the week

Ryan Hamilton Year 7

Ryan has been consistently engaged in his classes and submits  work on time. Teachers have also noted that Ryan is continually applying himself as best he can. Well done Ryan!

Ru Brendish - Year 8

Congratulations to Ru Brendish for being this week's "Student Of The Week" in Year 8. He has been consistent in completing his Remote Learning Tasks and a special mention for his excellent bike riding in Mr Lloyd's music video, which was last week,  but the glory is catching up with him now.

Corey Agnew Year 9

Corey Agnew has completed a large  amount of work and has shown tremendous improvement during the  remote learning period. Corey has shown a particular interest in PE classes and enjoys a variety of physical workouts.

Sienna Muke Year 10

Sienna received a nomination from Mr Fisher and a number of green chronicles. She has been recognised this week for her continued application and hard work during remote learning. Mr Fisher has been particularly impressed by Sienna's ability to maturely think through complex ideas and her contributions during WebEx meetings.

Lara Stevenson-Newell Year 11

Another week of remote learning draws to a close and I would like to congratulate all Year 11’s who have been working really hard. Students are planning their days around school tasks and emailing questions about the work. I have enjoyed getting emails and questions from not only the Year 11’s I teach, but others in the year level who have questions about VCE as a whole.

I encourage all Year 11 students to continue to contact me about any concerns, questions or even with some amusing stories of remote learning. I have really felt part of a team, rather than just the teacher of Biology and Environmental Studies. Students have helped me and each other and have shown great generosity toward all others in ‘Team Year 11”.  Keep it up – we are all over this!

I know when we give out awards and recognition it is easy to say that it was a ‘close race’ and there ‘were so many deserving candidates’, but this is very much the case for Student of the Week. This week, based on submission of work, attendance at Webex sessions and keeping in touch Lara Stevenson-Newell is our winner.

Congratulations Lara.

Nathan Pye Year 12

Nathan has made the transition to remote learning work for him. Whilst he acknowledges that Covid 19 has made a significant impact to his world, ‘totally mangling’ the way he learns and forcing him to rearrange his studying and how he does his school work, Nathan has risen to the challenge.

The secrets to his success are maintaining a routine and setting goals. Nathan’s teachers have shown their appreciation of his approach by awarding green chronicles for both community and endeavour. Most of all, Nathan has retained the sense of humour that we associate with his presence in the classroom and this is a vital attribute in this new learning environment that we find ourselves in. He is a most deserving recipient of the Year 12 Student of the Week award.
