Remote Learning Students
Jen Watson & Lily Clements
Just because school and sport are cancelled, doesn’t mean you can’t stop encouraging each other.
It’s a really good way to break up your school day by going on a nice walk with a friend!
Even though we don’t live under the same roof, we can still go out and get active.
We have been walking, running and doing some exercises. Also been doing netball training over Zoom which has been quite interesting and motivating.
Exercise has been a good stress reliever and it has been keeping us healthy.
The Talbot Room
Resilience, perseverance, creativity, self-sufficient, independence, coping with change, learning new ways to learn.
I could not be prouder of all students in the Talbot Room.
Students are ready every day for sessions on the computer and ready to complete their work.
They are engaging in all tasks, exploring new ideas and connecting in different ways.
We are currently working on our Community Project SPEC book…..
Students have been completing work/activities about:
- Lilly-Anne completes her work everyday
- Daniel the Master Chef has demonstrated his cooking skills
- Leah actively attending and completing activities
- Tyler calmly attending with increased time
Special Person’s Day
We all have someone in our life that we think is a little bit special. This could be a grandparent, a mum, a dad, a sister, a brother, an uncle, an aunt, a neighbour, a coach, a teacher ……
You are going to select, plan and prepare (OPTIONAL) a food item for your selected special person. This item could be a sweet or a savoury dish. It could be a biscuit, slice, cake, dessert, lunch item, breakfast, dinner ….The possibilities are endless!
Student creations included:
James Ross recipe
Banana and apple fritters, Which I make for
my family all the time.
Ingredients
- oil
- apples
- bananas
- Two eggs
- flour
- milk
Equipment
- bowl
- mixer
- frying pan
- flipper
What you need to do. Get the flour put it in a bowl and then put two eggs, milk and put them all in the bowl and mix. When they do not have lumps then you can put cut up the fruit and put them in the mix you made and then cook them on both sides and them eat them. I hope they are good.
Year 8 Catering
Year 8 catering elective finished this week and students did a wonderful job cooking at home and completed relevant theory work and a test on Thursday. Special mention to
Riley Cameron, Cael Jamieson, Skye Richardson,
Jack Easom for their hard work whilst at home and interest in catering.
I have really enjoyed seeing all the cooking each week. It all looks yummy!
