Principal's Notes

A note from the Principal

I am sure many of you were, like me, watching with interest the press conference held today by the State Premier, Mr Andrews. He made no formal announcement about a return to on-site learning but strongly suggested that a staged return to school is likely to happen during this term. Mr Andrews promised to release further details in coming days and as soon as I have details from the Department of Education and Training I will update you via the processes we have used throughout the coronavirus pandemic – Compass updates and Facebook posts.

Please enjoy this edition of Healesville Connections. We hope it helps you to maintain connection with the school and with each other.  As with previous editions, I have enjoyed reading about the achievements of our students, and seeing photographic evidence of those achievements. I have also appreciated the insights offered by staff members; reading about their interests, passions and foibles has been enlightening. My congratulations to each of the students of the week, and to the teacher of the week, Mr Morison. Bin night in his neighbourhood must be interesting, to say the least.

Thank you for the generous and kind feedback we have been receiving about the outstanding work being completed by our staff members. I know that the praise is both appreciated and well-deserved. Equally, congratulations to parents and students for everything you are achieving during this time. The response from all in the Healesville High School community during remote learning has been nothing short of remarkable.

Kind regards

Allan Rennick
