Assistant Principal's Report

Subject Selection

It has been refreshing to hear so many conversations around the school about subject selections and future pathways. As a school we pride ourselves on endeavouring to supply students with the pathway that gives them the greatest chance to thrive into the future. Make sure you are making informed choices around subjects and have read all the relevant information and spoken to the necessary people to support these students.

The subject selections are due on Monday the 26th of August, we have a very high success rate of placing students in their selections when they meet this deadline. Late entries run the risk of missing subjects so please make sure to be prompt in completing the online entries.

Arts Cup 2020

We are excited to showcase our student talents again at this year’s Arts Cup event. The Arts Cup will be taking place on Friday the 20th of September. In previous years we have had singing, dancing, comedy, rock bands and other highly talented students entertaining us. Year 7-10 students will attend the event, and we welcome parents to come along and witness these amazing students in action.

Warrnambool Youth Council School Strike for Climate Change

At the same time as the Arts Cup, the Warrnambool Youth Council is running a school strike for climate change. We fully encourage and support any of our students who are passionate about climate change and want to support this event. However we must remind them that if they are leaving school then official sign out processes and parent approval must be supplied to the school. We are currently investigating the structure of our sustainability student group and looking at practical strategies to support improvement in this space. Any students wishing to be art of the solution are encouraged to see me at the front office.
