Level 2 (Prep)

Reflection of the Term

The Prep children have had a busy Term being out and about in the local Community, together with developing as readers, writers and mathematicians.

The teachers have really enjoyed observing their growth as individuals and team mates, and love hearing the positive language that the children use with one another.

We are incredibly grateful to St Kilda Primary School, for lending us tables and chairs so that the children have less transition and can focus on the learning taking place in their classroom.

The team really enjoyed meeting with Parents and Carers at the recent Parent-Teacher Interviews to share the children's successes and next steps.

The forthcoming Term is very exciting; it is a term in which the children usually begin to consolidate learnt skills and make progress. Please see the Newsletter early next term for the Curriculum information.

The children bring joy to all those around the school who have the pleasure of interacting with them, for which they can be very proud of.

Thank you to our Volunteers who have helped both in class and with excursions this term. We could not have done it without you.

Finally, the Prep team hope you have a restful holiday and look forward to seeing you in July.

100 Days of School- Thursday 1st August

On Thursday 1st August 2019, the Prep community will celebrate 100 Days of School. The purpose of this event is to recognise the children’s 100th day of learning as Prep students at South Melbourne Primary School.

To mark the special occasion, we ask that at home, the children design and create their own 100-themed t-shirt to wear on the day. The design can be any colour of choice, but must fit onto one t-shirt. The children should come to school wearing their design on Thursday 1st August ready to take part in some 100-themed activities, organised and run by their teachers. The children will also have the opportunity to showcase their tshirts to parents and carers in a special 100 Days of School parade. More details of the parade, including location and timing will be provided closer to the event.

We are providing plenty of notice so that your children have time to think creatively and get designing. Should you need some inspiration, please see some photos below:

Thank you for your support. We are looking forward to seeing the unique and creative designs.
