At the junior school meeting we talked about the Free Dress Friday, money going to the bushfires. YES! That is happening in week 7 on Friday 13th March. It will be a gold coin donation as a fundraiser for the Bushfire Appeal. But you don’t have to dress casually, you can come in uniform and you don’t have donate.
Maeve and Leah from Grade 6 came up with an idea for representatives from JSC to make a short presentation at assembly each fortnight to tell the school what we talk about in the meetings. Next week, Maeve and Leah will present at assembly.
With new buildings happening, there is a little less space to play. JSC would like the teachers to decide if all the playgrounds except the Foundation and Year 1 can be shared by all students. Mr Kent will ask the teachers what that think.
JSC suggest that extra bike racks should be placed near the new building. When the new building is finished, JSC will be involved in choosing furniture and new trees and plants.
This year there will be a walkathon. The JSC would like School Council to consider that the walkathon money go to purchasing / repairing new playground equipment. On the new playground equipment there will be new shade cloths. Also the basketball court with hoops will be available to use again.
Mr Kent will ask Mr McKay if he can find some balls to put outside at play times so students can borrow them.
Minutes by Casey C
On Wednesday, every child in the school was involved in a 30 minute values project. Students were buddied up from Year 1 to Year 6 and placed in groups. They were given a school value to write and or draw about.
We were all in the hall so there was lots of talking and noise as well as plenty of productivity.
Their work was collected up at dismissal and here is a sample of their voice. More to come.
Fantastic to see the entire school working together!
