Physical Education

In our lessons this term we are continuing a whole school focus on Striking and Fielding Activities. For the Prep/1/2’s we are learning to use these skills in small sided games, learning to cooperate with teammates and show good sporting behaviours.

In Yr 3/4 we are starting a Unit on Dance and will be learning a Hip Hop dance and students will then get the chance to add to this and create their own dances.

In Yr 5/6 we will continue with Striking and Fielding but focus on Softball skills and rules towards the end of term. Students will also get the chance to work with a group to devise the rules, scoring and safe conduct of their own modified game.

A reminder that HATS are compulsory for the Spring and Summer terms and will be vital for our lessons, most of which will be outside. Students are also encouraged to bring their water bottles to lessons and be suitably dressed for physical activity. The weather is often cold in the mornings but by 10am the sun can be very strong, students are often too hot after running around and need to wear shorts or t shirts. These can be worn under tracksuit bottoms and jumpers so that students can take off their top layers during lessons.

Trinity Swimming Programme

Swimming will happen at the end of Term 4 with the final dates and times to be out soon. Students will need bathers, towel and goggles for their lessons and we really need the help of parents to help supervise students for every lesson. So please read the excursion note carefully and let your child’s class teachers know when you are able to come along and help out.

Fit Club

Spring is here, the weather is getting warmer, the mornings are much lighter and FIT club is on for all students. Trinity Fit Club is a Free Before School program open to all TCS students every Thursday from 7.40am on the Oval or in the MPR if the weather is bad.

Dr Kranky's Bike Hospital

Our Bike Hospital is running well every Friday morning from 8.15am thanks to the help of Ashleigh Scroggie and Ms Maryanne. However we have a number of children on the waiting list for a bike when one becomes available. So if you have any spare bikes you are not using or need to upgrade to a larger bike - please bring your donations into us to help other children. We can only accept bikes which are of good working order and can only complete minor repairs.

Many thanks
