It has been a busy start to Term 4. To begin, we celebrated Poetry Week with a range of activities and a morning tea in the staffroom to which a number of excited and nervous Year 8 students read some of the poetry they completed in English. The students received a standing ovation from the staff. On one of the sunny days of the week, we had a huge crowd of spectators watching the staff vs students football game. A sausage sizzle by VCAL students to raise money for a good cause and auditions for the junior production were just a sample of things on offer.

We will be farewelling our Year 12 students at a whole school assembly this Monday. The final day for Year 12s is Tuesday which begins with an early breakfast at the college and then a final outing as a group to Gumbuya Park. As always at this time of the year, we are expecting that students make the most of their opportunity to prepare for their examinations. Harnessing their content knowledge and practising their thinking and writing skills in each of their study areas should provide them with a comfortable lead into their examinations. Students are encouraged to meet with their teachers and to set up routines that will enable them to do their best. We wish students well for their exams and we look forward to seeing them at the Valedictory dinner on the 19th of November.

The Art and Technology Exhibition opening is imminent.  It will be a terrific showcase of student talent in each discipline. Open night is Tuesday 22nd of October at 7pm in the RT building. All members of the community are welcome.

Band Tour preparations are underway and schools in Ballarat, Daylesford and Sebastopol will soon have the sounds of Ringwood Secondary College bands delighting their students and staff. Best wishes on a successful tour.

For current Year 10 students and their families, the information night for the Year 11 Ball is Thursday 7th of November at 7.30pm in the Junior School. Attendance for this information night is required for participation in the event as important information is disseminated. The Year 11 Ball will take place on Saturday 29th February at The Grand, Wantirna.
