In & Out of the Classroom

The Year 11s of 2023 had a Maths session today during their Head Start Week where they heard about attributes that are needed to succeed in Mathematics. This was followed by a bridge building session, literally and metaphorically. Groups of 2-4 students were challenged to make a bridge from six pieces of paper and 1m of tape. The prize for each group was the number of Freddo Frogs required to break the bridge. There were some creative and strong designs. Needless to say, we need to buy more Freddos!

eSafety Booklet

In our last edition of The Star we provided some information about eSafety. In addition to this Catholic Education Tasmania, Tasmanian Catholic Schools Parents Council and eSafety are providing a free booklet entitled “Online Safety – A Guide for Parents and Carers” for every family from Grade 1 to Year 10.

The booklet covers some of the key online safety issues for young people and includes a range of practical tips and advice on what to do if things go wrong.

Booklets will be sent home with students in a sealed envelope as some of the information is sensitive. If you don’t receive your copy by the end of this week please check with your son or contact the office.
