Deputy Principal

Mr Daniel Lapolla

In summary the last few of weeks have been busy to say the least. To recap our college has celebrated;

Academic and Sports Awards Assembly

Acknowledging Year 9 and 10 elective and sports awards. Many thanks to Mr Michael Moschogianis and Ms Chelsea Mouritz.

Orientation Day

With our Year 7s for 2023. I thank Mr Greg Mills and Miss Farron Boxall for all of their efforts to welcome our new cohort.

Year 10 Mass

Over the course of the Year 10s time at the College, Fr Suresh has come to Austins Ferry and conduct numerous class and PC masses. It was fitting that as the final mass for some of our students with Fr Suresh it was done at St Bernard’s Parish, Fr Suresh’s home ground as he says.

Year 10 Luncheon

An opportunity for the Year 10 group to enjoy each other’s company and to reflect on their time together. Student Leaders shared recollections of particular year level experiences. House spirit was a popular topic with the leaders unpacking what their houses meant to them. The PowerPoint presentation highlighting how the boys had changed with an image taken in Year 7 compared to Year 10 on display, this was found to be very entertaining. The competitive nature was very much alive continuing in the form of a quiz testing the boys’ knowledge on various topics. Many thanks to Mrs Tracy Moschogianis and Mrs Cindy Gangell for all their organising of catering and set-up.

Thanksgiving and Awards Evening

I commend the Year 10 group for the manner in which they conducted themselves during the rehearsal and in their final days in general. This year as we transition into Year 11 it was timely to celebrate and focus on our whole community and all of those who have contributed. Our awards acknowledged those who represent our community with distinction, academic excellence, sporting and musical achievements. We heard the reflections of the year from College Captain Connor Churchill combined with the visual presentation of the year that was. Our Music department and their performances were exceptional, and our student leadership changeover highlighted a new era. I congratulate all within our community who came together to showcase what our community is all about.
