Emmaus Iwiri Christmas Party

Neil Blenkinsop

On Saturday, nine Lands Trip students volunteered to help with the Iwiri Christmas Party. Iwiri is a community organisation that Pitjantjatjara people living in Adelaide have set up for themselves.

Over the last two weeks, students Amber W (Year 11), Emilie T (Year 11) and Trinity D (Year11) fundraised $500, and bought and wrapped presents for 30 Pitjantjatjara children who don't usually get presents. On Saturday, the group of nine students helped the Iwiri staff with setting up, cooking the BBQ, serving food, and cleaning up. It was a long day, from 10am to 4pm.

Thank you to Mrs Rochelle and Mr Grant Wildman who generously came and helped, with Grant getting roped into being a fantastic Father Christmas!

We are so proud of these students who gave up a sunny beach day, and showed so much initiative and how kind and generous they are as people.

Thank you to Amber W (Year 11), Emilie T (Year 11), Trinity D (Year 11), Sienna N (Year 11), Callan H (Year 11), Campbell F (Year 11), Evie D (Year 11), Zoe S (Year 11), Ava J (Year 11).
