Principal's Report

2022 Year 12 Results

We were absolutely delighted to celebrate the successful achievements of our 2022 Year 12 cohort with the release of their formal results on Monday 12th December.  These results are the culmination of 6 years of secondary schooling and 13 years of formal schooling for our students.  We all know that they have worked incredibly hard to achieve these results, including adapting to the many challenges of remote learning over the last few years.  Most importantly though, the achievements of our students reinforce the fact that they are all capable of achieving amazing things and we have witnessed that first hand over the last year.

Our students now venture on to life beyond school, pursuing their own passions, dreams and interests, with many students heading to various pathways including apprenticeships, TAFE, the world of work and university.

Some of the amazing achievements of our Year 12 Class of 2022 include:

We are delighted to announce, Belinda Martin as the Dux of Epping Secondary College for 2022, achieving an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 96.35.   Belinda received outstanding results in her VCE subjects of Health & Human Development, Physical Education, Further Maths, English, Chemistry and Psychology (2021).

After a year of outstanding achievements, Belinda is hoping to pursue further learning at university through a Science degree at her preferred location of Monash University.

Art Expo

What an amazing event!  December 1st saw the return of the Epping Secondary College Art Exhibition and what a wonderfully well supported event it was.  The evening was a celebration of student achievement, arts and culture across the College.  In addition to the amazing creative talents of our students being on display, our guests, families and visitors were treated to a range of musical performances by our Instrumental Music students.

Congratulations to all of our award winners on the night.  A huge thank you is extended to our Visual Arts and Music staff for their preparation of the evening and to the many staff who assisted in making the event a great showcase evening for our College.

Thank you for 2022

On behalf of our Principal Team, I would like to extend a huge thank you to all members of our school community for the continued support and encouragement of our students and school during 2022.

I would like to acknowledge the enormous efforts of our teachers and College support staff – who have had to adjust to the rapidly changing landscape of education, and keep all the moving parts working, well-oiled and ticking along.  That’s no mean feat, and there have been times when it has seemed like all the wheels have been “this close” to coming off.  The wheels didn’t come off and we can be proud of our staff for their commitment and dedication throughout 2022.

On behalf of the College, I would like to thank parents and carers, whole-heartedly for the support you have offered your children and this vibrant school community as a whole.

To our students, be proud of yourselves, your efforts and your achievements and the person that you are – I know I am, I know your parents and carers are and I know our school community is proud of you.   You are our, Epping Secondary College leaders and learners – we know you all have bright futures in front of you – make your dreams come true and continue to be your best.

As we head into the school holiday break, thank you all for a fabulous 2022 and we look forward to supporting and serving you in 2023 and beyond.  Have a safe, restful and enjoyable holiday break and New Year period.  For those families that celebrate Christmas, have a Merry Christmas.
