Careers – shines a spotlight on the Applied Learning Awards and Chisholm Award

In November 2022, we were proud to announce that the following Year 12 VCAL students who have won Applied Learning Awards for the Cities of Bayside and Glen Eira (Regional Awards). These nominations were completed by Teachers Gary Bottomley, Jessie Li and Geraldine Borgonha.

The student winners were:

Johnny Li- Year 12 - Applied Learning Student of the Year for VET Patisserie, employed in Bon Bons and studied VET in St. John’s Regional College, Dandenong.
Kameti Jarso – SBAT Student of the Year – Horticulture and Warehousing – NFI & Gre8
Matarii Manico – VCAL Student – great all rounder and has completed both Horticulture and Warehousing SBATs.

Westall’s nominations for employers were also successful with:

Patrick Courtney from National Food Institute and Trish Keilty from Gre8 winning the Applied Learning Employer of the Year and
Glen Cooper and Nikki Fuller winning School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship (SBAT) Employer Award

Kush Berry, our graduate student won the Chisholm Award for Engineering at an excursion that Mr. Ralph Richardson organised for our physics and systems engineering students on Tue 4th Oct.

We take this opportunity to thank our valued Registered Training Organisations (RTO) mentioned above and employers.

We also thank and congratulate our SBAT and VET students in Years 10, 11 and 12 and parents for all their support.
