The Year 7 Film Festival is the culmination of the Connections Program. Students worked in small groups of 7-8 to plan, film, edit and produce a 3 minute film connecting to one or more Quaker Testimonies: Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, Earthcare. The film also needed to include the symbolic prop, which this year was ‘thread’. On Day 1, students planned their film and attended specialist workshops; Day 2 and 3 involved filming and editing; Day 4 included final editing, exporting, then watching the 18 films which were produced over the four days. Students have enjoyed working with Australian actor and artist-in-residence, Rhys Muldoon, along with Sam Jones (Year 10 student) who ran the Director of Photography workshop on the back of his success in the 2022 MyState Film Festival.
The three Most Outstanding films were Blue B Sustainabee; Blue C Formal and Green C The String of Truth.
