Applications Open for 2020 Youth Ambassadors

East Gippsland Shire Council (EGSC) is seeking applications from young people to join its Youth Ambassadors program. The College is encouraging interested students and supports them to participate in this program. For more information please see Mr Taylor at the College or apply directly via the link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/EGYA2020Applications close 20th March, 2020.

2019 Youth Ambassadors were participants in many community events, awareness raising activities, the successful Youth Week ColourFest and fundraising opportunities. Youth Ambassadors have also been involved in various training sessions including violence prevention, event management, cultural awareness and Teen Mental Health First Aid. They have created great opportunities for the youth of East Gippsland over the past five years, and are planning much more for 2020.

Youth Ambassadors have strong links with EGSC and youth-focused agencies to allow the ideas of young people to be turned into real action and develop strong links with local government. They represent East Gippsland at youth-focused meetings and conferences across the state, such as Youth Parliament and the Victorian Youth Summit.

EGSC is looking for  young people with a range of different interests and backgrounds – no previous experience is necessary. They encourage applicants from across East Gippsland (help with travel is provided). For further information about the program, please contact the Youth Engagement Officer on (03) 5153 9500 or see Mr Taylor at the College.
