Co-mingling bins are back in our college yard!!!
With the opening of our new canteen, we are very excited as a school to be bringing back co-mingling to trial as the majority of our canteen products can be co-mingled. The three co-mingling bins with yellow lids are positioned in a row near the canteen. No food waste or soft plastics (chip packets, plastic wraps) are to go in these bins.
Our college currently recycles paper and card and we hope to continue to improve our waste management practices with the introduction of co-mingling.
PCC’s Environmental student leaders are working hard to educate all students on our new practices.

Letters to Victoria Zoo's Vets
On returning to the 2020 school year students in Year 1 and 2 in Environmental Science classes wrote letters to Zoo Vets thanking them for caring for injured native animals affected by the recent bushfires. A huge team of vets at Victoria’s Zoos are continually working around the clock with volunteers to assist injured animals.

College Wetlands
The college wetlands is looking amazing thanks to the ongoing maintenance over the summer holidays. In Environmental Science children were able to predict what lived under the water in the wetlands and why we observed small circular ripples on the surface of the water. They also learnt the names of two plants which we can now view: algae, purple loosestrife.
