Principal's News
Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members
I’d like to launch this edition of our newsletter by thanking all of the families who attended our meet and greet sessions yesterday. Our staff were excited to share our 2020 plans with you and to welcome you into the spaces where your children and young people will be learning this year.
Hopefully you noted how great our college is looking. A great deal of work was undertaken over the Summer break. You may have noted the restored wetlands, freshly painted walls, fresh linemarkings in the yard, a resurfaced gym floor and an amazing new design/wood work space.
We have begun work to update our web page. Over the coming weeks we will be adding additional content, including many updated policies. Our newly designed Parent Handbook has been posted. I encourage you to have a read.
Yesterday I had the privilege of working with 15 secondary school students who expressed an interest in the Japanese club and study tour. We talked about the opportunity to learn the language, investigate the culture and pop culture and to discover more about the relevance of manga and anime. Later this month we will be hosting a parent information session related to the study tour to Japan which is planned for October/November 2020.
Please remember nominations for school council are now open. Two vacancies exist in both the parent and student categories.
Nominations close Monday at 4:00. Please consider nominating.
Yours sincerely
Mandy O'Mara
