2021

The start of a new year is a very symbolic time, it gives all of us the opportunity to ‘start again’ or ‘start fresh’.

We are pretty excited in our Health and Wellbeing team across the College, and for us we are very excited to be starting this year.

While we have had a small speedbump already with a short time of Remote Learning, we do have many options for students and families to connect with us coming up soon.

Some of the things to keep an eye out for across the campuses this term:

  • Breakfast Programs:
Across our 5 campuses, we have free breakfast provided for students on various days of the week.  Speak with your campus Wellbeing Coordinator to find out where and when this is happening on your campus.
  • Family connections:
The Connect Up program (facilitated by Bethany Community Support) is back again after some down time due to COVID restrictions.  Bethany supports parents, families and carers of NBC students to build stronger relationships with their children by recognising the fundamental role parents/carers play towards the wellbeing of their children.  Bethany will also be running Supported Playgroups as we move through Term 1.

Positive Health and Wellbeing programs: One thing we are passionate about in our Health and Wellbeing Team, is to provide all students the opportunity to work with our team either individually or through group work during their time at NBC.  Each campus team is busily planning and setting up various groups that will start in the coming weeks.  Students will be selected for some activities and groups based on themes. For more information on what groups are available at your campus, how you could connect with a group activity, or to give some suggestions for groups that you would like us to run, speak to your campus Wellbeing Coordinator.

This will be an interesting year, and there might be more speedhumps ahead of us. Whether you are a student or family member, we invite you to speak to our wellbeing team if you have any needs or concerns that we might be able to help you with.
