Secondary Agriculture

The start of the year is buzzing in Agriculture, as our two plots are being prepped for development. Over the past fortnight, the plots have been cleared and our students have been fully immersed in the experience.

Our Stage 5 students observed the process of turf cutting, looking at the movement of the machine and lawn.  The removal of the turf will allow students to mark the location of our new garden beds next week.

The Year 8 class have been just as busy, looking at sustainable gardens, where they built a compost bin for the school to utilise. By having a composting system, the school will be able to reduce and turn green waste into a rich fertiliser for our vegetable gardens.
