Library News

Welcome back to Ballarat High School library for another year! We would like to send a warm welcome to all our new students and families who are joining Ballarat High School this year, and we are loving the energy and enthusiasm of all our new keen readers. We look forward to getting to know you all over the coming weeks and years! The library has been abuzz with students catching up, borrowing new books and enjoying all sorts of fun activities in the library.

The library is open 8:40 - 4:30 Monday-Thursday and 8:40 - 4:00 Fridays for study, reading and borrowing. It’s a great place for all students to come and finish their homework or to enjoy some quiet reading time before or after school. At lunch we have many students in the library reading, studying, chatting about books and a large crowd of keen chess players who have taken to the game with gusto.

There are three clubs on offer in 2021 and students can sign up at the library front desk. Junior Book Club and Senior Book Club are perfect for anyone who loves reading and chatting about their favourite books, be that fiction, comics, manga, biographies or non-fiction. Students can bring their lunch and join in on the fun every second week of term. Junior Book Club started on 19th February and Senior Book Club started on 25th February.

Dungeons & Dragons Club is new to us this year and has already attracted plenty of attention. Students can come and learn how to play the game and by the end of the year will take on many quests and it should be lots of fun. Dungeons & Dragons Club started Friday 26th February.

We look forward to another exciting year and all the adventures that will bring.

Happy Reading!
