From the Chaplain

Rev. Dr Rosalie Clarke

Greetings to Kinross Wolaroi families,

Lent is a time of preparing our hearts for the ultimate good news story – where good overcomes evil in the resurrection of Christ. We hold this in our hearts with hope and faith; and we commit ourselves to work with God for a better world here and now as a result.

Today we remember Nicodemus in John Chapter 3 who secretly goes to meet Jesus to find out more about this man who performs signs and wonders, and who teaches new things in strange ways.

Nicodemus is a teacher of the accepted religious law of the time – he is a learned man. However, he is also brave enough to search for the truth and to consider something different when challenged by what he has seen and heard. He is brave enough to visit Jesus and question the things that are currently happening.

Like Nicodemus, Lent is a time for searching our hearts. It is a time to evaluate our own paths, and to ask our own questions about what is happening around us.

May you have time to reflect in quiet this fortnight.

Blessings,

Rev Dr Clarke
