Gotcha4Life Cup

On Saturday our boarding community held the first fundraising event for Gotcha4life. Playing for the Gotcha4Life Cup we held a T20 cricket match with Year 12 taking on the Principal’s XI on the KWS Main Oval.  It was a wonderful afternoon full of sunshine, music and entertainment. We had some special guest umpire support too, being Gotcha4Life Founder Gus Worland and Sydney Thunder WBBL rising star Phoebe Litchfield. The game was played in excellent spirit with a good mix of laughter, banter with some glimpses of quality cricket being played. At the end of the day the Principal’s XI got the win over Year 12, however the best parts of the day were the conversations had, positive interactions of all students and the money raised for an outstanding cause.

The initial goal was to reach $1000, however we exceeded this and it currently stands at $2400… it’s also not too late to make a donation (see link)  https://gotcha4life-fundraising.raisely.com/kinrosswolaroischoolboarding/

KWS Boarders want to see the next generation of boys and girls grow up with the tools required to deal with adversity that they will inevitably face in their lives. We also know that Gotcha4Life use the money to directly fund several grassroots, high impact workshops and training programs, with the money creating positive ripples through many communities across Australia.

Gotcha4Life believe in the concept of Prevention through Connection and raising awareness of the importance of identifying a close friend in your life, someone you can speak openly and honestly to when times are tough. They champion the idea of mental fitness, building the social and emotional muscle and the resilience required to deal better with the challenges that life throws at us. Gotcha4Life is a not-for-profit Foundation that funds sustainable educational workshops, training programmes and products building this mental fitness in communities across Australia, to enable strong, open and binding relationships.

Gus’ Vision

“Zero suicide, that’s our vision. Simple as that. I want a society in which everyone has a Gotcha4Life mate. That go-to person who you can open up to and rely on about anything. A world where we seek help when life gets challenging. Where we can build open and honest relationships and feel comfortable expressing ourselves, no matter what.”

- Founder Gus Worland
