End of Term 4
The Year is almost gone and it has been an eventful one.
On Monday 13 November the Year 9 students had the opportunity to travel to Tasmania on school camp. They explored Tasmania by bus, taking part in multiple different tours in lots of different ways, including cave exploration, mountains and an air walk along a very high bridge. The students who took this opportunity did not regret a moment of it and hopefully they all came back satisfied with the experience.
On Friday 8 December, we will have our last regular classes for the year and take part in our first exams for English and Maths. We have been studying for weeks now, hopefully everybody gets a satisfactory final score.
On Thursday 14 December, students studying a VCE subject next year will be required at school to complete their orientation session. This will be followed by our End of Year Awards Ceremony held on December 15.
We are all sad for leaving Year 9, but Year 10 will hopefully be even more exciting.
Thanks for being such a great year level and we have really enjoyed being your year level captains for 2017. Enjoy your well deserved holiday.
Reuben and Keira
The next couple weeks are action packed within Middle School, not just exams, but also the introduction to Year 12 studies for some.
As VCE Units 1 & 2 have now been completed, soon to be Year 11 students have been introduced to their Units 3 & 4 subject, which they will complete in 2018.
As the term comes to a close, the EIS Boys Basketball Team will be competing in the Australian School Championships against schools across, not just Victoria, but New South Wales, South Australia and the ACT. This will be a great way showing the talent within the Lilydale High School team and will be the last series of games played together this year. This event begins on the 3rd of December and finishes on the 8th, this is the event the squad has been working towards all year, and will be a great memory for those who participated in the program.
On Thursday 14 December, the Year 10 End of Year Awards Ceremony will occur during Period 1 and on Friday 15 December the Year 9 End of Year Award Ceremony will take place. We encourage family and friends to come as it’s a great way of recognising the talent in Middle School.
Finally, just a reminder, Thursday 14 December is a full school day for Year 10 Students as the following 5 periods will be for Year 11 Orientation, which is key to attend, as holiday homework will be handed out during this time.
