VCAL Emergency Services Breakfast

How often do we think about our emergency service workers, Fire Fighters, Police, Ambulance and Search and Rescue teams?

On Friday 13th March Year 11&12 VCAL students held a free thankyou breakfast for emergency service workers. The day went smoothly and all emergency services enjoyed the breakfast and talking with our students about their families and their jobs.

We planned this day in class with VCAL students organising invitations, media releases and planning the menu. We surveyed the groups to find out what they like for breakfast.

We had eggs, scrambled, poached and fried, toast, sausages, tomatoes, pancakes and omelettes.  Inspector Ian Bull from Shepparton Police, commented saying that the food we prepared was delicious and restaurant quality!

ABC Radio, Shepparton News and Weeknights all assisted by responding to our media releases to let the community know what Shepparton High School students were doing, to give back to our emergency service workers.

One of our sponsors, Fairley’s IGA, gave us a grant for food to be supplied. We also thank our other sponsors - Shepparton Council, and the Shepparton Football and Netball Club. We would also like to thank Angela from Tasteful Events Catering for donating her time to help in the kitchen. We hope to make the breakfast an annual event.

Thank you for all the students, teachers and sponsors for helping make the day a good one.
