Arts Camp 2016

18 May to 20 May

49 VCE Arts students from Visual Arts, Drama, Music and Theatre Studies spent a very productive three days down in Portsea, working on SATS and preparing for performance SACS.

Students were able to spend extended workshop time rehearsing, sharing skills and developing folios. They shared their achievements with each other in a concert on the Thursday evening, which highlighted the wonderful talents of our VCE students.

Thank you to all the wonderful VCE students who attended and the hard working staff; Jacquelyn Goode, Halley Metcalfe, Rachel Main, Amy Cumming, Sarah Hardy and Mitch Poole.

Year 8 Significant Person Project

For the past term, the Year 8 students have been doing a project on a significant person.

Those who are doing Ceramics have sculpted the face of their person. They have built up a relief sculpture and carved items, that their person likes into it. They have also added 3D pieces to give the piece depth.

The students doing Art have made a wooden piece and used things like, paint and plaster to enhance their piece.

On Wednesday 15  and Thursday 16 June, students invited their significant person to an afternoon presentation and display of their pieces along with their relevant work from other subjects.

For me, this project has been very enjoyable because it stretches over 3 different subjects. I have written about my sister’s favourite song, made a face and written a piece about why she is significant to me.

VCE Theatre Studies

Thank you to everyone who attended the VCE Theatre Studies performance of ‘Cosi’, early in Term 2.

The students worked incredibly hard and were very grateful for the 120+ people who attended the show over two nights.

We raised over $600 for the new Performing Arts Centre. Once decided what it will be spent on by the students, we’ll let you know.
