Year 9 'Resilience'

Over the past few weeks, Year 9 students have participated in 'Resilience Activities' during Home Group assembly.

From this experience, the students learned more about themselves and their mental health. We look forward to participating in more resilience activities to learn more about ourselves and the students around us.

Home Group Resilience Reflections

We asked some of our Year 9 Home Groups what Resilience means to them;

Resilience to 9.04 is to be able to bounce back if you fall down and always be able to try and try again if something doesn't work how you wanted it to.

Jess Clark 9.04

Resilience is bouncing back.  It is showing empathy towards others.  Resilience is the ability to overcome adversity.  It is completing a task that may seam hard.  For example, if you fail a test, you can practice and try again.

Chloe Saunders 9.08

In 9.12 we believe that the activities that we learnt showed us the ways you can achieve resilience, by focusing on your goals and trying your best no matter what happens. Also staying positive and focused all the time.

Maisie and Tiffany 9.12

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from difficult hardships quickly.  For example, when you fail a grade you learn from your mistakes and fight harder to get a better grade next time.

Trinity and Sam 9.13

In 9.17 we brainstormed ideas about resilience.  Some being positivity, calmness and independence. Ways you can show resilience is having a positive attitude towards life and persisting with goals when it seems hard at times.

Isabel Cunningham and

Hope McIntosh-Forrer 9.17

Resilience is being able to bounce back from negative issues.  In this situation, strength, positivity and persistence is the key. Showing resiliene is to be able to get up, dust yourself off and keep going!
