Year 10 Commerce with Mrs Chisholm
Year 10 Commerce students over the past 6 weeks have just completed a unit of work called 'running a business' which focuses on students understanding the planning, organising and details of running a small business and developing strategies to address problems as they arise. To compliment this, our students met with local business owner Sally Brazier from Lime and Stone to discuss her experiences in owning a successful business with her business partner Kate.
Sally spoke with the class for 30 minutes and answered students' questions (between them drinking their delicious milkshakes!) regarding the structure, marketing, financing and future plans for her business.
Maths with Mr Boardman
Congratulations to the secondary students at Molong Central School for their hard work in Mathematics throughout Term 1. From Year 7 beginning high school with integers and angles, to Year 12 preparing for their HSC with calculus and statistical analysis, it has been a busy and productive term for the staff and students of MCS.
MCS students have also learned how to use tools such as a clinometer (analog tool to measure the angle of elevation) and developed new study strategies such as one-page visual keys.
Study Tools:
All students have been given access to Maths Online (mathsonline.com.au). This includes a large number of videos that explain mathematics concepts as well as practice questions to help students prepare for their upcoming exams and assessment tasks.
There are a range of digital tools available to students to help them better understand the content they have covered in class. Two fantastic tools are Desmos (desmos.com) and GeoGebra (geogebra.com), both of these are also available on the app store.
