Learning and Teaching

NAPLAN is a national literacy and numeracy assessment that students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 sit in May each year. Students sit assessments in writing, reading, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy. It is the only national assessment all Australian students do. NAPLAN assesses the literacy and numeracy skills that students are learning through the school curriculum. NAPLAN is just one aspect of a school’s assessment and reporting process. It doesn’t replace ongoing assessments made by teachers about student performance, but it can provide teachers with additional information about students’ progress.

The assessments will take place for our Year 3 & 5 students on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th of May. If you have any concerns or would like more information,  please contact Monica.
