School Council Update

School Council President's Report
On Monday 3 April, the ASPS AGM was held and a number of new members were elected to the School Council, details of which were included in the last newsletter.
My thanks to those members who concluded their service to the School Council. I particularly want to thank and acknowledge my predecessor Simon McCarthy, who served on School Council for 6 years, 2 of them as School Council President. This included during the very challenging period throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, during which Simon oversaw a range of significant projects that have delivered great benefit to the school and which will leave an enduring legacy.
We are fortunate to all belong to a strong and vibrant school community, and the success of our school rests heavily on the strong partnership between our Principal and the teaching staff and the work of School Council and support groups such as the Parents’ Association. To that end, I want to thank all those who have been elected to School Council and to the PA team, including all the class reps, for the great job they are doing.
During the coming 12 months council will be focused on delivering on its strategic commitments, and building on our priorities – delivering exceptional school improvements through infrastructure projects and building on the school’s strong and stable financial position.
If there is anything you want raised at School Council level, please feel free to reach out to Principal Marcus Wicher, our Vice President Anthony Hunter or myself. We’d love to hear from you.

Dads Pizza Night Tickets
Come and share a casual evening of wood fired pizzas and drinks with other dads from ASPS.
Tickets include pizza & beer (BYO wine).
Bookings close 2:00pm Tuesday 16 May.

Morning drop-off & Afternoon pick-up Reminder
A reminder to all families to observe the parking signage at our Kiss & Drop Zone (2 minutes) on Burgess Street. You must stay in your vehicle and stay no longer than 2 minutes.
Abiding by these rules provides a safer and accessible drop off/pick up space for your children.
Note that accessible parking spots are only to be used by families with accredited permits
School Production Fundraiser
As you know the Year 5/6 production is looming! Please save the dates for 7th and 8th June.
To support this Production, we are having a pre-sale of flower seeds, planters & socks for Mother's Day. These items are limited Mother's Day editions to be quick!
All items will be delivered to your eldest child's classroom to bring home before Friday 12 May.
We will also be selling to socks in the school yards, so keep your eyes out for further details about this stall!
