Easter

For many of us, Easter is a time of anticipation and excitement. We eagerly await the Easter bunny’s visit, the opportunity to hunt for eggs and relish the chance to spend a few days away or at home. We look forward to eating warm hot cross buns and sharing meals and time with our families and friends. It’s a time to enjoy with those around us and allows us to take a mini break from the busyness of our everyday lives.

While it can be easy to be swept up by the excitement of Easter and all these special traditions that we can enjoy with our families and friends, it’s important to remember to take time to reflect on the meaning of this holiday. Easter is a time to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. It is a time to reflect on the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, and to remember the hope and promise of eternal life that His resurrection brings.

Mark 10:45 says:

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

I hope amongst the celebrations that we experience this Easter break that we can all take time to reflect and give thanks for the love and sacrifice that Jesus made for us.
