The Tally Way

The Tally Way underpins everything we do at Tallebudgera. It has strong links to curriculum and helps to develop the whole child. The Tally Way is our culture. It’s in the classrooms, the playground and even the office. We live and breathe The Tally Way. Each fortnight, we have a focus that is taught from Prep to Year 6.

This week we are learning about regulating our emotions

4 Zones of Regulation (Leah Kuypers) has been used to provide students with a framework for monitoring their own feelings and behaviour. This provides a consistent metalanguage for addressing student monitoring of behaviour and wellbeing. Students are taught to identify possible triggers for their feelings and are provided with opportunities to discuss methods of dealing with these feelings. Visit https://www.zonesofregulation.com/ for more information.

At school we might say things like “How are you going to get yourself back into the green zone?” or “What strategies do you know to get back to your green zone?”

Yours in HPE & Wellbeing
