Resource Centre

The Resource Centre has started Term 2 with a display of newly purchased fiction and non-fiction books for students to borrow and enjoy. These comprise the Little Ash (Barty) series, adventure graphic novels and quick reads, a range of verse novels, farming stories, and historical novels. The collection of multicultural author fiction and non-fiction is also growing, as is the range of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander novels, stories and non-fiction material.

There is such a wonderful range of reading material for the students to borrow which also includes a great variety of magazines which include many sporting topics, fishing, theatre, dance, cars, aviation, textiles, woodwork, technology, science, the environment, the universe and general interest.

Notice to Parents/Guardians Regarding Overdue Library Books and Textbooks

Students will be receiving another notification for overdue items again this week with replacement costs included for those items not returned from 14th October Term 4 2022 and Term 1 2023. These will be the final notices before details are sent to the Finance Department for replacement cost of item/s. Students have until Monday 29th May to return overdue items unless we are notified of a need to extend this time for a student. Students have received several reminders over this time to return overdue items, which is automatically recorded by the Library Management System.

As notified in previous Newsletters, a new system has been created to notify parents of overdue library and textbooks with costs in order for them to be aware that their student needs to return items. This system will be activated this week in order to assist parents/guardians in being aware if their student needs to return items which will also avoid the shock of replacement costs of items that are not returned. We would rather have the items returned than have to charge for replacement costs.

Returning Library Books

In Good Order

Please Note: All items must be returned in good order otherwise the replacement cost of the item/s stands. As always, please notify us should there be any issue so that it can be quickly resolved.

I hope these measures assist parents/guardians in being aware of Resource Centre notifications their student/s receive and I thank Mr Bailey (IT Department) for working to create the module to make this possible.
