TERESA HOUSE ATHLETICS DAY CHAMPIONS 2023!

The annual School Athletics Carnival is always a highly anticipated event for students and teachers alike. This year's carnival was no exception, with students from all houses participating in a variety of events to showcase their athletic prowess. After a full day of competition, it was Teresa House that emerged as the overall winner of the carnival.

Teresa House put on an outstanding performance throughout the day. The students were highly motivated and determined to bring home the Shield for their house. The carnival kicked off with the traditional 1500m and 800m races for the Year 3 to 6’s. The atmosphere was electric, with parents and supporters cheering loudly from the stands.

The day's events included track races, long jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus throw. For our junior students it also included a round of Tabloid Sports. Students from all houses competed fiercely, showing off their speed, agility, and strength. However, it was the students from Teresa House who stood out from the rest. They won several events and racked up points throughout the day, eventually taking home the Shield as the overall winner.

The winning house was filled with joy and celebration when the final results were announced. The students cheered and were proud of their achievement. The other houses congratulated them for their excellent performance showing amazing sportsmanship!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the parents who volunteered their time throughout the day. From cooking sausages, dropping off equipment, to helping students pin on a ribbon, it was amazing to see such a great turnout and community spirit alive and well at SoGS! 

In conclusion, the School Athletics Carnival was a huge success, with all students displaying exceptional sportsmanship and talent. Congratulations again to Teresa House for their outstanding performance . We look forward to another exciting carnival next year, where students will once again come together to celebrate their love for sports and athletics.
