Student Free Day

Wednesday 10 May 2023

Parent Teacher Interviews will be conducted on this day.

Mothers Day stall

The annual Mother’s day stall run by our Parents and Friends Group will take place on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th May. (Plenty Kids students have enjoyed shopping from the stall already!)

Students can select from a range of lovely gifts from $2 - $10 each. These gifts will include Eden jewellery, other handmade items from local businesses, as well as potted succulent plants.

Primary students will be taken during class time as follows:

Thursday – Prep, Years 1, 2 and 5

Friday – Years 3, 4, and 6

Any students who are away Thursday will have the opportunity to go on Friday.

They will be able to choose up to three gifts to buy. If you would like your child to purchase from the stall, please send them with a maximum of $15 CASH in a zip lock bag or wallet labelled with their name, along with a shopping bag to put their purchases in, on their allocated day.

Secondary students are welcome to come along during lunch time on Friday (EFTPOS will be available).

Thank you to our wonderful Parents and Friends Group for kindly putting on this valued stall. Any funds raised are put toward initiatives that benefit the students.

Recent happenings around the college

Here’s a snaphot of the latest activities around the college, including some incursions and excursions:

Anzac Day was recognised and honoured in a number of ways. The Secondary and Primary captains represented the college at the Dawn Service in Doreen, laying a wreath on behalf of our college community, while Secondary students took part in a special assembly on the first day of term, with Federal Member of Parliament Rob Mitchell attending as a guest speaker.

Students involved in the Year 4-6 Plenty X (extension) program enjoyed a visit from the Banyule and Nillumbik Tech School, who brought their Micro:bits and showed these students the capabilities of these amazing devices!

All primary and Year 7 students attended an incursion with Backflips against Bullying in the multi-purpose hall. The performers demonstrated and discussed practical ways to handle bullying behaviours and build resilience and positive relationships in an engaging and fun presentation.

Years 3 to 6 had their Junior School Athletics Carnival participating in a range of events on the oval and basketball courts with great energy and sportsmanship.

Year 6 students went to the city for their Music/Art Excursion to the Australian Centre of the Moving Image, with a full day participating in a top down animation workshop, as well as viewing the exhibition on the History of the Moving Image. These were wonderful experiences for the students.

Prep students were visited by a number of college staff (Mr Metcalfe, Mr Austin, Mr Bain, Mr Freeman, Mrs Hunter and Mr Wilton) who have a variety of non-teaching roles to answer questions about the jobs they do in our school community.

Plenty Kids students enjoyed carefully selecting gifts from the Mother’s Day stall, which they will lovingly wrap and present to their mums for Mother’s Day.

Years 9 to 12 IT students took part in an excursion to an interactive VR experience at Zero Latency in North Melbourne, which was an amazing day for all.

Years 9 to 12 took part in year-level workshops in the library on Relationships and Sex Education, run by Big Kids Table.

The Secondary Christian Ministries Team ran a series of initiatives for Kindness week, including a free pancake breakfast for students, delivering delicious treats to staff rooms, collecting food donations for a local food pantry and organising a fun dodgeball game to round out the week at the Senior School assembly.

Winter Uniform

Uniform change-over will happen on Monday 15 May 2023.
