COVID and other Virus Guidelines

Covid is still with us and part of my role is to check the statistics each week.

I know you will all be aware that COVID is on the rise again as we move into the cooler months. As are other viruses, some of which have symptoms that are quite debilitating over quite a few days. For the sake of our community, the following guidelines continue to apply.

If your child has symptoms of a cold/virus/COVID, they should not attend school while symptoms remain.

If they have symptoms, you should test them with a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), these are available from the college on request and at no charge.

If your child tests positive to COVID they should isolate at home for 5 days, and other household members should test before they come into school. Once 5 days has past and symptoms are finished, they may return to school.

Newspaper for Primary and Secondary Art

If you are one of those people who like to read real paper newspapers, could you please collect them for the Art department. They can be bought to school and left in either the primary or secondary art room.

Let the government know you value your Christian school

The Federal government has granted the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) a further 8 months to collate their final report on removing religious education institutions's (including schools) ability to make choices in the interests of school culture at enrolment and employment.

While no Christian school that I know of, excludes students on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or relationship status, or pregnancy, there are activists who continue to paint us as hateful people who do more harm than good to students.

The ALRC received a huge number of submissions and responses from ordinary people indicating that the ALRC preliminary report had gone too far in reducing faith schools’ ability to employ people of the same faith. This is despite the government requesting the ALRC to ensure that faith schools should be able to maintain a community of faith

I ask you to support faith schools by visiting the My Christian School Website to see more detail and to let politicians know that our school is good, does great things, and works with parents to produce outstanding citizens who contribute much to our community. If we do not act the only voice politicians will hear are the anti-faith schools voice, which are loud in their ears.
