Kurnai’s Got Talent

Auditions have taken place at all three campuses. The quality of the performances has been outstanding and I’m looking forward to more auditions in Term 3. Students that would still like to audition are able too during week 2 & 3 in Term 3. Contact Mr Gretton for more details.

Surrealism Paintings

Year 9s and 10s have been learning about the Surrealist Art Movement. Surrealism is about dreams, the subconscious and a twist on reality. Students chose whether to focus on dreams, a comment on a social issue, or a mental condition to represent through surrealism. They have created some amazing painted works about their chosen focus, using different painting techniques to represent their ideas and comments. They have brainstormed, researched and planned extensively, as well as spending weeks perfecting their final pieces. They are currently on display.

3D Sculpture Art

Students have been working on 3D letters to form words of encouragement to be displayed around the school. Students have employed critical thinking skills to cut out two of each letter and make them self-standing. Students have cut their letters out of cardboard in partners. They have explored different font styles in their designs and then have paper mached their letters to make them solid. Each word will be decorated in the theme of their word of encouragement.

Blue Edge Program
