Year 10 Shape Your Destiny Incursion

On Friday 15th July, Year 10 students attended an incursion from Success Integrated called ‘Shape your Destiny’.

This program explored student pathways into Senior School and helped students in aligning passions, strengths and motivation when considering goals, subject selections and careers.

Running for 3 periods, this incursion was a high energy, entertaining and purposeful session and gave students the tools and knowledge to help make decisions about their future careers or goals. The speaker Darren Periera led the students through a series of interactive information sessions, engaging stories and activities to get students thinking about their choices. Supporting him was a DJ playing high energy music to get students involved and energised throughout the session. Afterwards students compared their personality profiles from their Myers Briggs and their Morrisby Report from Year 9, matching these outcomes with career recommendations before reviewing their subject selections.

Feedback from students rated the session an 8.5 out of 10 and many found the session informative, interesting and fun. Below are some of the comments from students about the session which helped them to think deeply about their choices and aim for a life and career where they can 'Do what you love and love what you do."
