Last weekend saw a group of 16 students enjoy a Friday night of chicken burgers, cinemas and fun!

On Saturday, Sally headed down to Busselton with a small group of thrill seekers to the Adventure Ropes Course, whilst John kept the remaining students busy by doing a town trip  and setting up the fire pit for that night.

This Week In Residence

The week has seen the continuation of the regular shopping trips to town, to the Harvey Gym and local sport trainings. Country Week teams have commenced training together and it was great to see Volleyball and Netball training onsite, as well as the Hockey players in town.

Wednesday night we played a game of social netball at the College. Students got right into it making for an exciting and highly competitive game.

On Thursday we supported “Do it for Dolly Day”. Students were able to relax their usual uniform to wear something blue for the purpose of bringing the community together, spreading kindness and uniting in taking a stand against bullying. We saw great participation from students, ranging from blue beanies to full outfits.

Thursday was also the final day for students to acquire their Ball tickets. This year has seen the highest number of tickets sold to date.  There is a lot of preparation that goes into this event and we are all looking forward to this highly anticipated occasion.

This is the final weekend of term, where Sparky and Bill are looking forward to spending time with the students in a less structured setting.

Suicide Prevention Workshop

On Monday and Tuesday, three of our highly motivated staff members attended a Suicide Prevention Workshop in Mandurah. Our staff are always interested in upskilling themselves to better support our students.

End of Term

Next week is a short week to finish off the term. Students will be departing the College from 2:25pm on Thursday 30 June (remember Thursday is Friday's timetable).

This Term break we have two groups of adults coming into the College for further Professional Development. To enable this to take place, we have asked the students in the East side of Mornington dorm to pack their belongings under their beds and we will screw the beds down as an added precaution. We understand this is a slight inconvenience for those seven students, however we are also able to get some important work achieved for our staff, in collaboration with other Colleges.

Gym Use

Unfortunately, we have been seeing the misuse of some of the College property in recent weeks. This has included too many in the gym at any given time, not signing in, damage to College property, misusing equipment and using equipment without the necessary sports shoes. This puts risk to us being able to offer the opportunity of having certain gym equipment. I would just like to ask those students involved to please follow the College guidelines as I would not like to have to close the gym completely due to a selfish few.

Hygiene at the College

Just a reminder to once again ensure we are always being as hygienic as possible around the campus, so that we can try and keep as many people fit and healthy for the coming months.

Returning After Weekend Leave

Please, can I ask parents and guardians if a return time needs to change or if your child is not returning to the College as per their leave request, that you take the time to notify staff.   It is not only courteous,  but also we have a duty of care to your child. Many thanks for your co-operation.
