Year 10 Colour Run
Congratulations to the Year 10 students who successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh this term after many cancellations due to last years' bushfires and COVID restrictions.
This is a great personal achievement and a fantastic addition to their extra curricular activities. Thank you to all the families and staff who supported and assisted the girls in their journey through the award under some very challenging circumstances.
Some certificates and bronze pins were presented to award recipients during their last Yr 10 year meeting. More certificates will be handed out to students when received via post after submitting their final reports.
Students: Rory Cotsios, Isabelle Epps, Matilda-Lily French, Emily Giang, Caitlin Hamilton, Niamh Hosty-Snelgrove, Olivia Johnson, Evie Juchau, Genevieve Knighton, Stefanie Kostoglou, Isabella Kutasi, Zara Linkous, Annabel Payne, Jessica Rudder, Scarlett Stockdale-Linke, Zoe Trenbath and Samantha Walker.
The Exodus Foundation
Thanks to the generosity of students and staff at our school a total of 189 cans of food were donated to our drop off point in the Library over the past two weeks. The cash total of $427.65 raised through the SRC bake sale and Xmas photo Booth held in the Rusty Cott Pavillion will certainly assist many struggling families and individuals over the holiday period.
Over the course of the last few weeks, Year 10 SEA members have been collecting donations to support their WoodiWILD project. This project involves raising money which goes towards planting and caring for native trees in areas of NSW which have been previously cleared for agricultural purposes. The new areas of native tree growth help our valuable native wildlife which has been so severely damaged by human impacts that some species are fighting extinction. Our school has contributed over 140 trees to this great cause, a small yet important contribution to the NSW government's five million trees for a greener Sydney by 2030.
Thank you to all students, parents and teachers who contributed to this great project. A special thank you to DEAR class B17, who managed to raise the most funds out of all the DEAR classes in the school. B17 will receive a class succulent to award students for their effort. Special mentions also go to classes B23, who came second, and B22 who came a close third.
