SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT JOURNEY

I am extremely excited and proud to have been offered the opportunity to continue the school improvement journey at Merbein P-10. No doubt it will be an extremely busy time as we undertake the final stage of the school build, but one I’m certainly looking forward to. Merbein P-10 College is a wonderful learning environment for students and our goal is to continue to improve this experience every day by continually improving our own practice.

I would like to thank staff, students, parents and school council for the wonderful support I’ve received since I took up the initial temporary position in April last year and I look forward to continuing this positive relationship into the future.

CAPITAL WORKS PROJECT

It was an exciting time last week when we were contacted by our local member with the news that we had received the capital works funding that we had been lobbying for over many years. The accompanying statement below was then emailed through to me the following day.

I can confirm that as part of this investment, Merbein P-10 College will receive 5.937 million to upgrade and modernise your school, including the East and West Wing of the Main Building. This funding allocation is for all the costs associated with your project, including professional fees, all building-related costs, and a project contingency.

Once I have been contacted by DET (Department of Education and Training) and have more details regarding the project I will provide additional information via the newsletter to families and continue to update School Council as to our progress.
